Psych0matt
well, I see on 60degree they are called A.I.R. tubes, and in a post they were called EVAP tubes, but im assuming that means the same thing. either way, are these what I bypass/disable/get rid of? DaveFromColorado
AIR and EVAP are two totally different things. A.I.R. is an Air Injection Reaction system use to preheat the catalytic converter EVAP is the evaporative vapor canister used to hold the gasoline vapors from the fuel tank. someone probably posted thinking it was the EGR tube, which is part of the Exhaust Gas Recurculation system. Anyhow, but those are in fact Air injection tubes - you can tell by the check valves on there. --Dave.

Guest TurboSedan
i believe A.I.R is only used on 5-speed cars.
Psych0matt
it's a 96 engine :?
5speedz34
it's a 96 engine :? AIR was on 96+ 3.4's. The thing is I don't think you can put different manifolds on since the 96 3.4's exhaust ports are drastically different. If you want to get rid of them I would take them out and get the hole filled. Good Luck.
94CutlassSLCoupe
Chances are those fittings are NPT so a plug shouldn't be that hard to find
DaveFromColorado
you could always re-tap them for a pair of W/B O2 sensors ... --Dave.
Psych0matt
I would take them out and get the hole filled. That's the plan, the writeup on 60degree says to plug them off you could always re-tap them for a pair of W/B O2 sensors ... w/b?
