Trans shifting kind of odd...

Well my 3 speed is shifting odd this morning, woke up, nice and cold morning. so the A/F mixture is higher than normal, so i feel like romping on my gas and wasting some of it.

so i get down a main street and floor it from about a 30 roll, the car shifted but it was smooth and felt like nothing. it was a very smooth shift, the car just started revving up and moving fast. scary thing though was i saw the tranny shift at 6k rpms... now normally under WOT it does 5500 so this is a little scary for me.

i know i need a tranny filter and fluid. plus a full tune up... i just hope i didnt make that lifter even worse by doing this.. :( after my birthday in a week im not going to romp on this devil car anymore. i am going to get her fixed, and drive her till she dies. store her, fix her up in a few years, and have a nice classic :)

any ideas on why my car would be shifting so smooth like that?

What do you mean by shifting smooth? Like, when it shifted, it seemed like it was bit slower and softer than usual? I dont know what cold is where you live, but when a transmission is cold, they will shift a little differently than they do when they are warm. As for it shifting at 6000, once again, i would relate that to the trans being cold. Mine holds on to gears a little bit longer when its cold out. I will never get on it like that until things have had a chance to warm up though.

like when i floored it.. the rpms just eaisly glided up to 4k like it was nothing, like if it was in nuetral... i dunno it is odd, i am about to be out of class soon and will be dicking with her on the way home seeing how she acts... it just kind of scared me.

i am used to a no throttle response turd car... but the thing took off like a rocket today.. more so than ever.
