chadz34
I was cruising around last night. I'm at the stoplight, next thing I know, my oil light came on and my battery light came on and the rpm gauge dropped to zero, but the engine was still running. So, I shut it off and re-start the engine and it was fine? What happened?

fastbird232
I have the stalling problem a LOT in the winter and the no-tach problem when I start it first thing in the morning (it'll run ok, the tach and the gauges won't work). That happend to me, when the tach stay's at zero, mine goes once you start to drive, it'll shoot up to the right rpm. Happen's very rarely though. I need to wait until Tuesday night or Wednesday to put my intake gaskets on, so my dad can help me.
5speedz34
FWIW: NAPA can test the alt. Ask anyone into cars....autozone sucks.
Guest TurboSedan
the NAPA here has tested alternators for me.
