99vetteman
On my 3.4 DOHC, when I had it apart yesterday to do all its major service, I noticed that the end of the hose going into the plenum was so badly soft like a sponge, its a wonder I get any braking at all. I guess its from the excess heat over the years. Change that hose and your brakes will no doubt work a little better! Jason

Jason That's one of the things I do whenever I purchase a new/used car before I start doin' anything else. I also check the booster to make sure it's not filling with brake fluid from a bad master cylinder. --Dave.
5speedz34
DaveFromColorado, how do you check for the bad master? But the 3.4 has always had that as a common thing, since it is tucked under the plenum.
DaveFromColorado
I usually use the oil dip stick gently pushed into the booster - you can see if there's brake fluid on it - if there is, you need a new master cylinder, or at least to inspect it. --Dave.
