matt86
Do I have to remove the filter seal or can I leave it in if it looks like its in good shape?
5speedz34
You can leave it on if its in good shape. You're talking about the metal one on the top of the filter right?
matt86
yeah the one that goes into the trans body itself.
5speedz34
You should be able to reuse it. There is a write-up in the FAQ section. That's what its there for.

White93z34
when i did my trans filter/fluid last i left the old one in, will probably do the same this next time around too.
matt86
I ended up reusing it because it felt fine. I don't know when the fluid was last changed and I've had the car for over 24,000 miles and I've never done it. I'll post some pics later on. I was getting worried about not doing it soon. It feels like its shifting fine but time will tell.
