joey b Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 yes, the crank sensor was not accurately reading the position of the crank and sending spark at the incorrect timing. Maybe I should be using the term spark knock instead of pinging, but regardless it sounded 100% like a frying pan being repeatedly smacked on my engine and was too loud to distinguish the origin of the sound. Broke a piston in half and later revealed that I had a trashed crank sensor. Quote
