fastbird232
When I start my car, it's got idle issues. It'll surge for a while in park, and sometimes when I'm coasting down the road, it'll surge again while in gear, going from 800 rpm to 1800. What's up with that? Also, when I'm backing out of a parking spot and go into drive to pull away, rpms drop way down (and has even stalled a few times), like 500 or so. I dunno what's up with this engine. I've cleaned the IAC and MAF. Haven't had the opportunity to do much else while it's been cold out, but does anyone know what the problem could be? DaveFromColorado
I'd start off by checkin' the fuel filter ... also, how long ago did you fill up? you may have gotten a crappy tank of gas too. --Dave.
GP1138
Plugs/wires? Fuel filter? Bad gas? Have you checked by changing to a different IAC?
5speedz34
Does it get better after getting warm? If so it's intake gaskets.
fastbird232
Fuel filter replaced in July, plugs and wires changed in November, IAC cleaned in January. I might be the gaskets. But the revving in drive happens when warm. And this has been going on for months, using gas from half a dozen different stations. I guess I could try another IAC, depending on how pricey they are.
