slick
You will need to make brackets for the F-body calipers to fit. Otherwise, nothing much else will need to be done.
ZeroDCX
If this becomes possible for 1st Gen W-Bodies, I know who's going to be looking toward the upgrade.
DaveFromColorado
I think I've got some measurements to take here in the next few days ... I think I know where there's an F-body I can look at to find out about the backing plate for the rear brakes. --Dave.

badassoldspower
i can get custom brackets made if someone can custom fab up a mock one, i can get em cut probably on a water jet or laser cut. just lets pursue this guys.
DaveFromColorado
are we talkin' for the front breaks, or the rear the rear breaks have that drum style parking/emergency break inside the rotor, and the fronts look fairly similar ... I'm gonna see if I can't get ahold of an F-body to copy some measurements from --Dave.
badassoldspower
I would want front and back from f-body so my car will actually stop
DaveFromColorado
my first project will be chekin' out the rear brakes, lookin' at the backing plate, and figuring out how it can be made to work on a W... then I'll look at the fronts. --Dave. GnatGoSplat
The amount of fabrication for F-body brakes on a 1st gen would be no less than that of putting Corvette C5 brakes on. Not to mention the cost difference isn't that much either. Might as well go for the Corvette brakes.
DaveFromColorado
but I can find F-bodys in the junkyard and have access to lots of F-body parts... that's the only reason I'll do my research with it. --Dave.

fastbird232
That's a pretty steep price, though. You'd probably be better off going to the scrap yard than paying $250-$400 on those things.

luminal67
the guy with the rwd nothstar GP has front F-body brakes. Just do what he did, put an F-body front clip in your car
timg
The problem is that the front calipers use a completely different type of mount and the rotors don't even begin to fit the hub. I had all of the parts for a 12" brake swap and it wasn't even close to fitting. However, older F-body or Corvette brakes might be possible. Tru2Chevy
Every F-Body (1967-2002) uses a 4.75" BP, so the stock F-body rotors won't fit on a stock W-body hub. - Justin
GhrarhG
You could redrill the rotors for the 5x115mm pattern. I'm interested in someone making a bracket to mount the caliper. Drilling a new bolt patten wouldn't be that hard.
