ragejg Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 The pads (bushings, whatever, I dunno what to call 'em) at each end of my monoleaf are shot, and I'd like to buy new pieces, because I'm doing a strut job next week on my '93 lumi. The local parts shop called the dealership since it was a not-in-stock part and quoted me a ridiculous amount. Bleh. So where else can I get these pads? They aren't THAT expensive, are they? Quote
herb427sc Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 MOOG makes them, but I do not know part number... Quote
DiscoStudd Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 The MOOG "pads" aren't really pads at all. They're a poly "puck" that slides under where the monoleaf contacts the knuckle. The part number is K6544. $20 a set from rockauto.com... Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Dont feel bad, dealer quoted my $70 for a fucking cup holder... I might be able to get you a NAPA part number tomorrow.. Quote
GP1138 Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Dont feel bad, dealer quoted my $70 for a fucking cup holder... I might be able to get you a NAPA part number tomorrow.. Please do, I need these things myself. Bad. My rear end looks like an Achieva rear end when I accellerate. And that's bad because my tires aren't as thin as Achieva tires are, so it can't be an Achieva rear end. Quote
92LuminaRS Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 will the combination of the pads and puck raise the rear? If so how much? Quote
Doug Goodwrench Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 You can get these parts at NAPA also. P/N: 274 7050 - $16.49 Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 yeah I looked it up, I got the part number and I just lost it  But they were like $17.99 but prices will vary between stores. EDIT: I think the number above was the number Quote
GP1138 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 How would you go about installing these? Quote
GOT2B GM Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I have the NAPA ones in my white Z34 for 1.5 yrs and they work good. No more squeaking. I just used a prybar and a small piece of wood. I gently pried up on the monoleaf spring, one side at a time using the wood to protect the fiberglass spring. Then just slide the poly pad in between the knuckle and the end of the spring. Quote
GP1138 Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Well, I just got back... NAPA closes at fucking 6 for some reason. I did find a TRW equivalent for $11 at Advance, and it was CC104. I wanted to ask here to see if this was cheaper and if I should go for the more expensive part? Quote
Crazy K Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 Hey! gp1138, did you get to see the advanced part? any idea of it's quality??? Quote
z34duck Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 Hi is the napa and moog part for a pair for one plmk thank you john Quote
Lee Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 The ones I got at NAPA last year were only $9 as a pair. They are the white poly pucks kind. They didn't go in all that easy.....but I made it easy. I got on the grinder and rounded the to edge of the side I was pushing in first. Then all I had to do was tap a bit with a small hammer. I jacked up the monoleaf though, not pried. Quote
