dohcfiend Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 i am surprised i haven't thought of this be4. would having the crossover pipe remade out of mandrel bent piping add anything by itself or with a high flowing exhaust and a set or ported manifolds? Quote
slick Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Port the manifolds is a good start. A larger, custom crossover is a very good idea over the stock restrictive one. The ofcourse a new exhaust from the downpipe back is in order. Quote
92LuminaRS Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 I say run a custom dual exhaust. Have the front cyl bank on one and the rear on another and put an X pipe a fet feet down the line and have it run dual all the way to the back If I have the time and money I'd try it just for the hell of it Quote
gp90se Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 dont have the room for a true dual setup, but a set of headers and/or mandrel bent crossover/mandrel bent exhaust will wake the car up. Quote
ShockTherapy Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 depending on the year, some compainies make headers for the DOHC. Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 dont have the room for a true dual setup, but a set of headers and/or mandrel bent crossover/mandrel bent exhaust will wake the car up. The new 3900s run a pipe from the front of the engine and under it, rather than around to the rear manifold and out one downpipe... I don't know about subframe/oil pan clearences on our cars, or even if two pipes will fit side by side further down the car... but it's a thought. Don't know if anyone's tried it yet (probably not, since you'd need custom manifolds). Quote
