ApexAnalog Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 It seems like debadging is easy enough. Does anyone know which badges, if any, on the 92 Grand Prix have holes/screws? If there are holes, is it easy to cover them up with bondo and touch-up paint, or am I just going to replace eyesores with eyesores? It'll be cool if people don't know there is a 3.4 under there...hehehe Quote
Dirty Rockstar Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 No holes.. THeyre all held on w/ 2 sided tape Quote
jeremy Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 no holes....just get some Goo Gone to help clean everything up... Quote
ApexAnalog Posted March 1, 2006 Author Report Posted March 1, 2006 Sweet. Thanks guys. That was a scary fast response... Quote

THe_DeTAiL3R Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 use a heatgun (or even a hair dryer)... they should practically fall off, leaving for less cleanup afterwards. Quote
ApexAnalog Posted March 1, 2006 Author Report Posted March 1, 2006 Thanks again for the help, guys. The letters seemed to fall off whether or not I used the hair dryer...it was sunny today, so the car was kind of warm anyway. I still have some leftover residue to get off. Is there any particular product I should use to get that stuff off? I don't want to hurt the paint. I have some old parking decals to remove, too. After all that is done, and I get my doorhandle put back on, I'll probably post a pic somewhere. Quote

logikf1ve Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 WD40 works better than goo-gone, IMO. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 you could also use brake cleaner too but not too good for your paint/clear Quote
ApexAnalog Posted March 3, 2006 Author Report Posted March 3, 2006 Its done already. Thanks for the tips, though. Quote
NeonKnight Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 what about the door molding on a 91 lumina, is that taped on also or is that secrued with holes? Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 what about the door molding on a 91 lumina, is that taped on also or is that secrued with holes? Pretty sure it's taped on. I see the guys at the bodyshop using these big red lights (heat) to put them on... so if you wanna remove them a heatgun would probably work. Quote
fastbird232 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 The Pontiac emblem on the front bumper is held on by a post, so there's a hole in the valence you'd have to fill. Quote
J Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 what about the door molding on a 91 lumina, is that taped on also or is that secrued with holes? just to let you know, after i took mine off the doors shut and it sounds really "tinny" like flicking the side of an empty pop can. If your going to do that dynamat or (edead) the doors Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 I might have some badges left over from my 88 GP... (GRAND PRIX SE) still not sure if I'm gonna de-badge this car or not... Quote
