aurora and 3.4 dohc the same?

dohc v6

Recommended Posts

Aurora = V8

LQ1 = V6

as 93luminaZ34 said, that is for the older LQ1 plenum.

After surfin' 'round their site for a while, I found LOTS of errors - like for example the "air induction system" for the Lumina 3.4 DOHC has a picture of the 3400 pushrod engine ...

The Aurora was also available with a 3.5 DOHC V6 in 2001 and 2002. I think that's what he was refering to when he asked if the plenums were the same.

Stupid that they offered the V6 in the aurora... Hell, the whole idea behind the aurora was to have a production engine to use in the IRL series cars. After all, the IRL had that stupid rule about needing a modified production motor ... didn't realize it was that close to the Northstar ...

Yeah. That's why the 3.5 V6 is often referred to as the "Shortstar". Stats vs. the V8 weren't as far apart as you'd think, either.

3.5L DOHC V6:

215 hp

230 lb-ft

4.0L DOHC V8:

250 hp

260 lb-ft
