dohc v6 Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 i was browsing the rsm catalouge and found this plenum. and man it look almost the same as the 3.4 dohc http://rsmracing.com/Lrg_Images/tbs.jpg Quote
GOT2B GM Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Um.....that IS a 91-95 LQ1 plenum. RSM is fuxored. Quote
DaveFromColorado Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Aurora = V8 LQ1 = V6 as 93luminaZ34 said, that is for the older LQ1 plenum. After surfin' 'round their site for a while, I found LOTS of errors - like for example the "air induction system" for the Lumina 3.4 DOHC has a picture of the 3400 pushrod engine ... --Dave. Quote
solid_raiden223 Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 The Aurora V8 is closer to a northstar motor... matter of fact it pretty much is one... i should know i have one Quote
5speedz34 Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 RSM=teh suck. (waiting for Davis to chime in ) Quote
skiiirt Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 I want the poly dogbones from RSM, but besides that everything is rediculously priced Quote
RareGMFan Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Aurora = V8LQ1 = V6 The Aurora was also available with a 3.5 DOHC V6 in 2001 and 2002. I think that's what he was refering to when he asked if the plenums were the same. Quote

I think that's what he was refering to when he asked if the plenums were the same. Stupid that they offered the V6 in the aurora... Hell, the whole idea behind the aurora was to have a production engine to use in the IRL series cars. After all, the IRL had that stupid rule about needing a modified production motor ... didn't realize it was that close to the Northstar ... Aurora V6: Aurora V8: Northstar V8: --Dave. Quote
Redwingvksm Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 FUCK NORTHSTARS AND ALL THEIR OFF-SPRING!! Quote

That's why the 3.5 V6 is often referred to as the "Shortstar". Stats vs. the V8 weren't as far apart as you'd think, either. 3.5L DOHC V6: 215 hp 230 lb-ft 4.0L DOHC V8: 250 hp 260 lb-ft Quote
5speedz34 Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 IRL?! Indy Racing League Cool. Quote
gp90se Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 iirc 3.5 v6 = 90v6, wont fit with a radiator in a 1st gen w 4.0 v8 = whole lotta fun Quote
