92LuminaRS
So it seems that so far I am the ONLY person on this forum that likes the raspiness of the exhaust when the 3.1 is cold, huh? I'm curious as to why this goes away when the car is warmed up? Is it because the air/fuel ratio is changed, the exhaust steel hot, or the motor being physically warmer? I've always wondered that. cutty
i think its because the engine gets warmer, and the air going into the engine gets warmer. i dunno though
Grand Moff Joseph
I'm not sure as to the exact cause, but the exhaust note does make a noticeable switch when the engine finally warms up. The funny thing is, I've had people stop and ask me what kind of exhaust I have on my car, because to them it sounds like a Flowmaster. They look shocked when I tell them it's stock. Crazy K
I think it's caused by vibrationary rattling, at least is is on mine... after all, the engine is running at a higer RPM when cold.

Crazy K
I know, but I sometimes I think they're interrelated... you'd hear rattling if the system was touching something.... I think exhust vibrations acount for some raspness... (shrugs)
