gpse3200 Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Well its never a good idea to have the tires chirp during a shift unless its strong motor doing it IE an Z28. You shock the transmission and the whole car as well. I've seen gears beak because of that. A fast shift is good but not to breaking point. Team hunda seems to like to do that with their little 1 cylinder hair dryers, I'm just waiting for them to split a case. As for the clutch, You probably broke it in. Faster than it should've been. Hopefully it'll stay in its current state for a long time. Quote
gpse3200 Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Not if you are using a heavy duty transmission like a Borg/Warner T5 or T6 which is also ,mounted heavy duty, designed to absorb extra abuse that hot rodders would throw at it. Quote
SuperBuick Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 That happened to me the other day in the Z34, the clutch all of a sudden felt really good. It is something getting stuck, though, because when it happened I got nervous, and pumped the clutch a bunch of times, and it returned back to its "normal" state. Don't get too excited about that "good" feeling, I think it is just a bubble in the line or something. - Tom Quote
gpse3200 Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 Well Ford seems to like the T5. Quote
