ZoomZoomFan Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Is the new Buick Lacrosse a W-body? I absolutely LOVE those cars. I'd love to have one with all the factory options, black on tan leather. Mmmmm... But anyways, are they a W-body also? And the new Lucerne (which is also pretty nice), what model designation is it? Quote
MonteCarloChick Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 I'm pretty sure it isn't.. Couldn't tell ya what it is EDIT: i just read on gminsidenews that the Lacrosse is a W-Body And they also say the Lucerne is a G-body? Quote

The LaCrosse is merely a replacement for the Regal. Kevin Quote
Grand Moff Joseph Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Correct. The LaCrosse, Impala, MC, and GP are still W-body cars. Just as an FYI to all, I spoke with a Buick rep recently at the Albany car show, and here is the break down on new Buicks: LaCrosse = replacement for Regal and Century Lucerne = replacement for LeSabre and Park Avenue Quote
fastbird232 Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Time to update the w-body.com home page! Oh, wait... Quote
mihela816 Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 My parent's have a LaCrosse. I absolutely love driving it. Makes my Lumina look like a complete turd in every aspect. Quote
3pt1lumina Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 The Lacrosse is a very nice vehicle IMO... spunky too. Quote
ZoomZoomFan Posted February 21, 2006 Author Report Posted February 21, 2006 This car is frickin hot. I think they look best in black, if you can't tell. It's too bad the production cars didn't get these wheels. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?rdpage=thumb&car_id=192989063&dealer_id=54124741&car_year=2005&search_type=both&make=BUICK&distance=0&model=LACROSSE&address=42303&certified=&advanced=&max_price=&bkms=1140489516901&min_price=&end_year=2007&start_year=1981&isp=y&lang=&cardist=308 Quote

fastbird232 Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 if only it came with an L67, id hop on it Why would they use an old Series II engine in a brand new car? W-Body.com: The only place where you can find members drooling over your grandpa's car. But actually... Crown Victorias and, get this, Lincoln VERSUS Cadillac! HOLY MEDICARE SLEDS! Quote
john99gtp Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 cause its a damn good engine. or maybe ill take an l32. Quote

Regal_GS_1989 Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Allure just sounds so much more appealing than LaCrosse Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 The LaCrosse/Allure is a "nice" car, but I still get more of a thrill driving a 97+ GP GT anyday of the week. Although, the optional 3.6DOHC engine is quite a beast!!! Quote
ZoomZoomFan Posted February 21, 2006 Author Report Posted February 21, 2006 Allure just sounds so much more appealing than LaCrosse People in Canadia call it an Allure because in Quebec, people speak French. In French, LaCrosse is slang for "erotic self gratification". No joke. Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 rofl...so you drive a... "masturbation"? Quote
kknobl Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 W-Body.com: The only place where you can find members drooling over your grandpa's car. Say what you will, but let me tell you, the LaCrosse is one sweet automobile. They ride very nicely, feel very solid and honestly, feel much better built than a Grand Prix or an Impala. The Grand Prix is the most fun to drive, but the Buick far and away has the best built feel and nicest ride. Bottom line: if I had the money to buy any of the new W-Bodies I wanted but could only choose one, the LaCrosse would be first choice, hands down. Kevin Quote
mihela816 Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 :withstupid: GP's are a bit rough in the suspension but they don't handle any better to justify it compared to the Buick. Quote
R Dubya Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 We are seeing a lot of problems with the power steering systems on those LaCrosses. At least 8 of those racks have been replaced in our dealership alone.. Sticking and clicking badly. Pay $30k for a car, but you can't steer it. They "think" its the intermediate shaft causing problems, but as soon as they replace the rack, they problems are gone. Now we are doing those shafts instead. GM is retarded. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Hmm yeah we have an 05 (used) Allure and it does that clicking thing... I dunno if they fixed it though  it's sitting ready to be cleaned for delivery... Quote
