93euro
the curb won . the gouge doesn't appear to be that deep.... is this bad? should it be fixed? can it be fixed? or can it be left alone? these tires are still good (~30000 miles on them, cooper lifeliner SLE's) and i really don't want to have to dump money into tires right now. Cam'ron
doesnt look bad at all... just watch your pressure you might be able to get rid of the curb rash or at least make it not as noticable but it doesnt look that bad
Hairdo12
sidewall damage cannot be repaired. I would not chance anything when it comes to tires... and I bet it could let go at any time. 65 bucks for safety is a good investment if you ask me. Tires are no place to penny pinch. LumiDriver
I agree with Hairdo! Safety is alot better than splattered brains.

MonteCarloChick
I'd definitely change the tire. My mom ran a curb to avoid a dog and the tire blew out. And how is 30,000 miles on a tire good? Especially with a crap brand like Cooper
sl3196
No way I would keep that on there. My recent flat doesn't look near as bad on the sidewall but I'm still replacing it.
19Cutlass94
Looks like the curb won But deff get that tire replaced before something happens.
DaveFromColorado
yeah, sidewall damage is a gamble - it could last an other 60k, or it could blow out with the next pothole, or even just randomly while driving down the highway ... I'd replace the tire no matter what at that point. --Dave.
3pt1lumina
Get rid of it before it blows out! Your safety is more important than the tire. Glad you didn't get the rim though
1990lumina
My RX-7 has been running around with a nick like that in the sidewall for 3 years now
19Cutlass94
My RX-7 has been running around with a nick like that in the sidewall for 3 years now and it could be that if you moved the car tomorrow it would go, you just never know. True...I dunno...for all I know it could have come that way from the tire shop because that nick has always been there (Bridgestone Potenzas)...they are still likebrand new lol....they will probably rot off before I wear them to the wear line
jeremy
fix it as soon as you can.....never fuck around with tires...
93euro
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8039808043&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3APIC maybe i'll go for these. i want to have 4 matching tires, but oh well. i guess 2 brands of tires is better than 4 matching tires and one blowout. And how is 30,000 miles on a tire good? Especially with a crap brand like Cooper these tires haven't been bad at all. the fronts have at least 47000 miles on them (on the car when i got it at 70k, car currently has 117k) and still have life left in them. the backs (where the damage is) have about 32k on them because i had two of the tires replaced at 85k due to a screw in the one that was right by the sidewall.
