ToroToro
Yeah, you could really fuck up your threads if you pull the plugs when the motor's hot. And dont forget the anti-sieze on the plugs upon re-installation.
slick
Eh.... I really wasn't meaning it like that. I can change my plugs without getting the first burn anyways (3 extensions will do the trick), and ALWAYS cold. But just in general, burns hurt more than cuts. TeeJay3800
Yeah, you could really fuck up your threads if you pull the plugs when the motor's hot. And dont forget the anti-sieze on the plugs upon re-installation. I wondered about that when my mechanic changed my plugs when my engine was hot. Everything has been fine since, but it definitely concerned me at the time. Would warpage occur, or just what?
ToroToro
The threads could come out with the plug, since the heat expanded the aluminum. I'm sure you would notice something like that though, and you'd have to helicoil the head. Cool sig BTW.
TeeJay3800
Thanks! I have to give credit to Dikran (RareGMFan), he made it for me.
THe_DeTAiL3R
This is my method to rock the engine forward, although apparently with some cars the engine can hit the fans/radiator http://wbodysource.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=
dbtk2
Since there is ample room in a 3100 car I just reach back there and change the plugs. Its very simple...don't see how it is worth it to rock the engine. But hey, do what you want. On a 3.1 you almost have to rock the engine. I've done it without rocking the engine, but I do agree that with a 3.1 it is easier to rock the engine forward to change them. It just seems stupid to me with a 3100 because there is ample room. Anyways, there should be plenty of info in this thread now to be able to change the plugs. Have fun. Shwan

The only thing "in the way" on them is the O2 sensor, and even it isn't really obstructing your movement.
