birdman
well since the weather was so nice wednesday and thursday i decided to throw the 95 injectors in there and replace the o2 while i was at it. i put some cleaner in the ends and let it sit there while i was getting everything off. it was real easy, except for getting the o2 socket on :x stupid heat sheilds. im not sure if it totally fixed mt bogging problem yet, havent really punched it butit did make it idle better and the phantom stalling seems less evident. the idle used to go down a little when i hit the brakes and the lights would come on but now it dosnt do that and while coasting the idle would sometimes bounce from 1000-1300 and it dosnt do that either now. if the bogging problem isnt fixed by this im going to get a ecm, does anyone know which will work 3.1? 3100? or do i have to get a 91-93 3.4? thanks. Crazy K
glad to hear it. I doubt you would need an ECM.
birdman
well thats what its come down to so if you know somthing else that would cause a bog at WOT please drop some knowladge
Crazy K
when you say bog...... are you slapping the pedal to the floor fast as you can? I guess a better description of the BOG might be helpful. I'm just used to sponging the pedal to the floor. I can squeal the tires if I want... or really fucking roast em, but I don't like to... it puts lots of stress on the tranny and stuff.... (I spun 180 by gasing it with the wheels cocked to the side in a wet parking lot when i was pissed once. fucking clouds of smoke!!!) I think you've used cleans in the engine and all that.... a new knock and O2 sensor... more likely that not it would be an out of spec sensor... like the temp sensor or tps sensor. I've seen a few odd sensor make a car run a bit off. ever consider doing a upper intake swap? I saw a dead 95+ z-34 at the boneyard. I could get it for you for cost if it's there on my next visit. AND I should ask, did you change the injector O-rings? Wouldn't want a flambe!
birdman
well, no i didnt replace the o-rings but i did check for leaks several times and saw none, ive done tps and temp sensor. and as far as the bog. it seems that past like 2/3 ish throttle it just bogs and dosnt really do much no matter if you slam it or ease into it. and what would a 95 intake do for it? i thought that 96+ were the ones to get. Crazy K
thats whe we need to hear about your problem hmm... You got many of your basis covered... How about a new fuel pump and/or filter? could the car be running out of fuel pressure at WOT? I was thinking 95+ (my bad???) I would have to re-check the car... and more info from anyone who knows about the intake swap would be helpful. Not sure why, but they are supposed to be better... in fact, test drive it and then get back to us!!!
birdman
well the intake arm is longer therefore making the runner lengths longer raisint the powreband from 6200 to about 6600ish. abd i have a new fuel filter too. the weired thing is that it has no problems going into higher rpms, i can make it go 6500+ with no problem so i wouldnt think it to be a fuek pump but that is possible. i di know it has good pressure because when i relived it to do the injectors it took forever to relive it and it was spraying out pretty quick. if it is a 96+ intake i call dibs though. WOT would require more gas than simply accelerating into the 6200 rpm range at less than WOT, I would presume. take it for a test drive, and then change the filter and test drive again, to see what difference it makes.
