jeremy Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 as y'all know I have to replace the fuel pump in my STE tomorrow. I am going to pick one up tonight. Is a replacement stock one fine or is there a better one that I can get? Thanks in advance. Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 ask for a fuel pump for a '90 Corvette with L98 or for a '90 TGP. should be same part #. Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 yeah i used that pump when my Cutlass was NA 3.1/5-speed for about 3 years before i ever turbocharged the engine. no problems at all to this date. IIRC it was around $100. might even be cheaper than the stock replacement. i got mine from Advance and i think it was a Masters brand pump. Quote
White93z34 Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 i've heard nothing but bad things about master brand fuel pumps, if it were me i'd just get a ACDelco one. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 Agreed. AC is the only way to go. You might pay a little more, but atleast you know your getting a better part. Actually AC or Delphi (sp) since there basically the same thing. Quote
Crazy K Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 can I ask what the difference is in the specifications??? Flow, PSI, volume vs. time? Quote
99RegalGS Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 My Walbro for the Bonne cost me $97 From here: http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/ Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 yeah i would have gotten a Walbro had a known at the time they were so cheap. my Walbro 255 for my old GTS cost around $100. that would be overkill for a NA 3.1 though....probably overkill for a Turbo 3.1. there is a Walbro 190 though. anyways, i actually have a Masters brand and no complaints here. kind of like the people who told me my standard Luk RepSet clutch would slip with the Turbo 3.1 and even with 325 ft/lbs at the wheels NO slipping. patgizz Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 master brand pump i put in my truck died within a week. replaced with a borg-warner for $10 more and it's been in 3 trucks now over 6 years Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 I still have the originial AC that came in the car. Thats why I would stay will AC since its lasted this long...... Quote
mfewtrail Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 I gave you an ebay link in your other thread(believe it was your post in the member's rides section) with AC Delco pumps(TGP version) for cheaper than you'll find them in a parts store...I would stick with AC Delco(got 240,000 miles outta the one in my 1993 GP).
