I would say for mechanical and appearence reasons go to your local auto parts store and buy on of those flexible shorty rubber antennas. They look cool and perform better. If that doesn't fix your problem then make sure all the wires are connected al the way through...check from your radio all the way to the trunk.

So... your saying that even if you switch radios in your vehicle, you still cannot recieve a signal, correct?

Sounds like a faulty antenna line. Start behind the radio, at the antenna, and trace it back through the dash, under the trim, and back to the antenna. If everything looks intact, I would consider unplugging the antenna lead out of the back of the deck, and creating a sort of circuit of it it(take a multimeter, put it on beep mode(if yours can), connect one lead to one end, and a lead to the other end. If it beeps, its most likely good. Then, it would be time to move to the antenna.

well inspect the line. For instance, there may be an easy plug to check at the base of the antenna.... Try stciking a metal coathaner into this connector and see what results. if reception is improved, then you have a bad antenna, it not, then somewhere in the car body,m the wire has seprated or broken.

a snapped off antenna shaft will cut you down to one of two stations. Been there done that.
