brianhasadd Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Hey. I was wondering where I could get a little bit more bass from. I don't want to change out my stock in-dash 6-disc cd changer but I do want a little more bass than the 255-watt Monsoon stock system. Does anyone know where I can find a sub and amp that will hook up to my factory system?? thanks Quote
1990lumina Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 You can buy an inline converter that will create two RCA outputs from your rear channel speakers if you want...then you can run your amp off that and still retain the rear speakers functional....Im not sure if this is the best solution or not. NeonKnight Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 you can just splice a few wires off into an amp on speaker level input (if the amp supports it) then just plug some speaker wires into the amp and subs and your set. this should not effect quality. but you can do it off the rear speakers. 97loudcut Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 i say get a pari fo pioneer 6x9's and hook like a 400 watt rockford amp up to them...they sound so good Quote
brianhasadd Posted February 22, 2006 Author Report Posted February 22, 2006 I've been looking into changing out all the speakers but I really do like the Monsoon system. If I change them out I'll prolly be going with Boston Acoustic speakers Quote
slick Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 This thread is full of stupid except for the questions asked, and 1 other reply(1990lumina). Doing a line out convertor or a speaker level input to any amplifier will not give good sound quality. At all. You can do a line jumper to up the voltage from the line out convertor a few volts, and that will help, but still not great sound quality. This is really the only solution to adapt it to your factory deck. You mentioned upgrading from the Monsoon- good idea. And the Boston Acoustic's are a very nice choice. But, I do suggest amplifing these speakers for better sound quality. Only problem- no RCA outputs from your factory deck, so you again face the dillemma of either doing a line out convertor(speaker level inputs will get you the same sound quality) which will not be great sound quality, or drop the factory deck for something that has much better control over your entire sound stage. And no, not Pioneer for the win. They are OK speakers, but thats about it. For the price you can pick up a set of Alpine Type S speakers and have much better sound quality, or for a few bucks more pick up Infinity's. Decisions, decisions... Quote
