1trucavalier
can you actually believe that GM said "we are aiming the new gp at BMW" <-------- WTF are they smoking! #1 if you don't make a performance car in 5 or 6speed then you already lost. No matter how much hp and tq gm throws at the gp if you don't make a manual shift then you will never even get close to competing with bmw. luminator94
I'd kill for a new 318i or 328i. The sad part about BMW, is they have a horrible reliability record.
Brian P
The new GP and any BMW aren't even near each other, but again that's GM's bean counters/pencil pushers hard at work.
luminator94
Yeah, that's comparing apples and oranges between GM and BMW. But If I had to choose between a new GP or a new Beamer, I would obviously take the Beamer. I love GM and all, but c'mon, a Beamer! Ok, I'm wondering way off the subject now, I'll shut up. SmokesGTP
I love the looks of the new Grand Prix. I can't figure out why everyone hates it. I think its one of the best designs besides the new GTO Pontiac has had in years. Just my 2 cents worth.

The headlights look like giant alien eyes, the narrow but tall grille looks like a bird's beak. The rear end isn't much better, it's so blocky looking. The side profile's not that great either, it has a tall window sill and tall roofline and looks more like a crossover vehicle than a low-slung sport sedan. Pabz
The only thing beautiful about it is whats under the hood, my future engine that i will swap into my cuttly in a couple of years.
CPSMonteZ34
I think its one of the best designs besides the new GTO Pontiac has had in years. Yeah, that would figure though, because Pontiac didn't even design the new GTO...it's the Aussie's Holden Monero with a different face and ass. ...and the only reason that car came overseas to North America is due to Mr. Robert Lutz himself. If it wasn't for him, GM wouldn't see half of the $#it slated for production they pulled from paper and conceptual design. I'm beginning to loose faith in GM for doing only what the grand majority are "satisfied" with.
supreme_style21
There making all the cars look like aliens. ALIEN is exactly how I think it looks! I hate these things and I feel sorry for Pontiac putting it out on the market. I just don't like the boxy exterior with all the sharp points.. some small child could come along and poke an eye out. It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. The interior looks import-ish. I liked GM for its nice comfortable interiors and cushy seats. Now its the import-feeling/looking fabric and rock hard seats and plain, flat ugly dash. I'd like to stay loyal to GM, but I am starting to have my doubts.. I'll have to give Acura a call in the near future.

Thank You, that is how i would say it, but better. Let me add (vent)a little I've always like the gen 1 headlights. They are small in height and long in width. Plus the grill was closer to the ground, not halfway up the car. And where is the damn air dam. On the front view of it, you can't even see it. It is not even anywhere close to the ground. If you compare the 94-96 air dam and grills, the 04's airdam is where the 94-96 grills where. UUUUUUUGGGHHH. I'm almost ashamed to own a GP with that THING related to mine. Why not but some BF Goodrich mud tires on that thing, cause who needs a body lift. I though my 94 GP had bad wheel gap, Shit, mines a low rider compared to that hideous thing. A 6 year old child needs a damn step bar to get in it. and that ass end is bigger than your moms. And as far as the C-pillar goes, who needs the rest of the pillars, that thing is big enough to support the whole roof. what do they have hidden in those things. Whew, i need a breath. Ok, what happend to the spoiler on the deck, that little thing looks like it came from my girlfriends escort. :x O wait, i know why it is so small. CAUSE THE DAMN BREAK LIGHTS ARE THIS BIG AND TAKE UP ALL THE ROOM FOR THE SPOILER. I've always like the 1st and maybe 2nd gen break lights cause you could always tell them apart from any car on the road. I'd be able to call out a GP from a long distance and my friends would never believe me it was a GP untill we got to it. Now, they are almost as big as those damn honda's. Those honda lights are huge too. Please don't tell me that GM is going the way of the imports with those big ass lights. I don't see why everybody and all the critics hate the side moldings of the 1 and 2 gen. Well at least give this thing fender flairs like the older ones. This needs atleast one telltale sign of a GP. O, and one last thing - NEW STYLE OF RIMS Check out this link - http://www.car-data.com/photos.previews/p.pontiac.grandprix.30.3.jpg those things look so generic, give them something flashy. GEEEES Well thats about all i can muster for now. I have not seen many good pics of the interior, so i'll probably have to come back and vent about that later. GnatGoSplat
I've always like the gen 1 headlights. They are small in height and long in width. Ah yes, I've always preferred headlights that are small in height and long in width. Miniquads are okay, but I prefer the look of a smooth composite, preferably with the clear lenses and jeweled chrome reflectors. That's one thing I always liked about those early Lincoln Mark VIII's... they have some very nice looking headlights that are very long in width and short in height. I've heard their light output is crap, but they look good, especially the 96 LSC that has HID bulbs and the jeweled look. Anyway, I hate these giant, bulbous, ovoid shaped headlights automakers are using these days. Yep, the new Accord is hideous, and so is the Camry. 04 GP looks like it's following the trend of vehicles that are making funny faces at you. SmokesGTP
I agree on the new Camry but I think the Accord is pretty nice. When I was test driving an Intrigue last night I was lookin at all the 04' GP's and I sat inside a Black comp G with black leather interior. God what a sweet car. I love the looks of the front end, the sexy grill with those big beautiful headlights, you guys gotta get up with the times man
GnatGoSplat
No way man, screw the times! Europeans get a much better looking Accord with normal headlights, I don't know why the US got the ugly one with the huge headlights. I guess huge disgusting headlights are a US thing, as many European cars (Audi, BMW, etc. still use normal looking headlights). I saw an ad on TV last night for the new Lexus ES 300. Oh man, those huge headlights are disgusting. It's not quite as ugly of a front end as the 04 GP because it has a better looking grille, but those headlights make for the ugliest Lexus I've ever seen. Even the current Grand Am looks better despite its big headlights because the grille fits between them better. The GTO front end is what the GP front end should have looked like. SmokesGTP
Yeah huge headlights aren't usually my thing either but I think they fit this car very well. We are getting the European Accord now in the form of the Acura TSX. It does look better than the US Accord.
Guest Anonymous
I think almost every new car is ugly. Even the chevy trucks are starting to look funny. I liked the way they were. Like Sawns truck.
AWeb80
O, and one more thing that I forgot to add in my rant above. I know the Bonny and the GP are both made by Pontiac, but aren't we supposed to tell the two apart? Just wondering. I've always thought the Bonny looked good as 4 door. Now with the GP only being made in a sedan and styled like it is, you have practiacally the same car with two names. The ass end (from the C-pillar back) of the new GP i can picture on a Bonny, but not on a GP. Well, i need to stop before my blood pressure gets too high. It would be alot easier on me (and probably most of the board) if they would listen to our (you know, the next generation of buyers) ideas on how to style it. One word, MANUAL
GnatGoSplat
Actually I think the Bonne looks a LOT better than the 04 GP. I don't really have much to complain about in the way the Bonne looks. I'm with Joe, I think all new vehicles are ugly these days. Yep, the 03 Chevy trucks are real ugly to me too. The 03 GMC looks much better, but even with GMC, the 99-02 looked even better than the 03. They said Lutz would make things better, but it looks like things are getting uglier. grandprix104
sad thing is i think the bonni looks like a gp and the gp loooks like a bonni Did somebody F up the order of the bluepriinnts or somthin???
Guest Anonymous
Lutz is a putz. Have you seen the solstice yet? Lutz wanted to design a pure performance car. Start with no power anything. Very simple interior. AND A 4 CYLINDER?!?!?! Oh yeah, that's performance you retard.

Very simple interior. AND A 4 CYLINDER?!?!?! Oh yeah, that's performance you retard. Yeah, I know what you mean. A 4 cylinder in a car is not a performance, I dont care how much power it has. A pure performance motor is one that while running in idle, will rattle the windows out of a house, and have enough torque to pull a building down. GnatGoSplat
Eeeyugh, that Solstice is ugly too. Performance, huh? I guess they're trying to compete with the Honda S2000 with that thing.

91GranSport
Ha ha ha! Shawn, is there any GM design that suits your tastes? I think it's fugly. 97-03 were much better looking in my eyes.
91GranSport
I love Buick man! Send some scans of the Regal and Ultra brochure over! I saw one at the VA auto show. took a load of pics, but the camera broke. I do have the Brosure for it, along with the Regal, and Buick Ultra and then like 10-15 Olds DVD sets
