90_Black_TGP
I am thinking that I am going to add more reliable gauges in a pillar pod to the TGP and that is going to eliminate the need for the factory gauges / dash. Will the factory GP digital dash work on the TGP's WITHOUT major mods? I like the idea of the digital dash and I am disappointed GM didnt put one on the TGP, it would have been a natural for the car. Anyhow, has anyone done this... SUCCESSFULLY? Can it be done?
RareGMFan
Don't those lack the full gauge package? And aren't only a few of the actual gauges in digital while the rest are analog?
90_Black_TGP
I was thinking I saw one that was all digital. It has been a while. It may have had idiot lights in lieu of gauges. which would be ok if im going to use external gauges. I just dont want to duplicate gauges and would like to have the digital speedo/ tach. Prospeeder
Yea the GP digital are just the speedo in digital, the res anolog, definatly not worth it, but if you could get a Pontiac 6000 FULL digital to work, its red and all, that would be the coolest thing ever
RareGMFan
There's no way that would fit. The 6000 gauges are long, and narrow. The assembley stretches out almost 3/4 of the way across the dashboard (ends where the radio ends). There aren't too many applications it can be custom fit into because of this. 90_Black_TGP
ok... Now I'm on a mission. I'll find someone who can make these. Anyone interested? I want one of these with a boost gauge and in red!
GutlessSupreme
eh.. dashes like that don't really interest me. they'd have to be Cutlass UB3 style, with the gauges still taking a circular shape.
90_Black_TGP
Just playing with Paint Shop Pro... I dont think it would look bad at all.
GP1138
I don't like it, it's boring, and generic. But that's just me.

jeremy
on those guages.....and the stock digital GP clusters are garbage
RareGMFan
i like it, but i love all digital dashes I love digital gauges, too, but those aren't doing it for me. They're very bland, generic gauges that don't fit the car, as opposed to.... or
90_Black_TGP
Yeah, I agree. I would love to have an instrument panel like that, but I am kind of stuck with the layout that the guys at GM gave us. I fart in their general direction... TurboGTU
I would just use reliable digital guages and mount them on a sheet of cut aluminum or steel in place of the dash. Though Im aming for white face Autometers.
Guest Anonymous
i did the digital swap from an 89 GP into my 92 with the analogue gauges. Definetly worth it to me. Minor changes... you might want to swap over the the push-type dash pods to gain the e/m, trip/odo and reset buttons. Otherwise there is some minor wire changing. You'll lose the check gauges/ low fuel output to the HUD, but thats it. I can get the diagrams. I know alot of people denounce the GP digital dash, but i like it. I haven't had any accuracy problems yet. It functions just the way my analogue one did.
92 GP
I'm not much for digital. Nothing's more fun that when you're autocrossing, watching that needle on a full sweep oil PSI gauge, or say a boost gauge, bounce around everytime you punch it through a turn
