Stevo Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 My ECC has fan speed control and temp settings but for some weird reason the modes are not switching. Air comes out as if it's stuckin neutral but doesnt blast air in the directions I select. Any idea whats up? Quote
DaveFromColorado Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 I'd guess you have a vacuum problem, not allowing it to move the HVAC doors properly. --Dave. Quote
TeeJay3800 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Yep, most likely vacuum. Surprisingly, mine still works even though I have a leak somewhere under the dash...I can hear the vacuum system hissing depending on what mode the ECC is in. Quote

No its definitely a vacuum hiss. The sound changes when the ECC changes modes, and it also does it when the system is completely off. Quote
cutlsp Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 mine stoped working too oh well at least i'm tearing the dash off to replace it anyways Quote

On Ford, and therefore probably GM, the default position when there is no vacuum is defrost (safety reasons). Quote
Stevo Posted February 13, 2006 Author Report Posted February 13, 2006 Air comes out below and the window defogger... not upper vents and no extra umpfff that the defrost position has. Quote
5speedz34 Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Those ECC's are notorious for going bad. Quote
