geenick
I finally got around to doing the brakes on the cutty. Upgraded to AC Delco Durastop slotted rotors, ceramic pads and all new calipers and hardware up front. My brother and I also got to debut a new tool... he got one of those brake bleeder pumps. Our hands are still tired from pumping. It worked pretty well, but works BETTER, is the brakes on the Cutty! The barge can stop again without shaking like crazy.... Now I just need some nice wheels to show em' off!! The only trip the car will take this winter (while I drive my "winter Wbody") was to the car wash during the brake inspection / test drive after we were done... I snapped a quick pic before the sun went down last night... Here she is!
birdman
looks real nice. how are your rear calipers though? the triple black cutty looks good too.
geenick
I did the rears last year. They slid REAL nice and I only needed to turn the rotors and put in new pads.... The E brake even still works perfectly.... The GM dealer accidentally gave me the rear pads this weekend, so now I have an extra set of rear ceramic Durastop pads for next time I do brakes. I'll do the same rotors in the back when it comes time for that.
Prospeeder
My rears slide fine and the ebrake works also, and there old and rusty as hell and from michigan! lol
THe_DeTAiL3R
You have the newer rear brakes anyways so they shouldn't have near as much problems as the older 88-93 ones did. My 95's brakes work great. I didn't know AC Delco made slotted rotors! I'll have to get those next time But I just got cheap white box rotors put on year and a half ago and they are still like new, so it would be a while. geenick
Yeah... I normally just turn/resurface whatever rotors I've got in the car. I have free access to a machine turn drums and rotors. I ended up switching everything up because no matter what I did last year, the front right caliper kept warping the rotor. I did the brakes twice last summer. I just decided to do the upgrade - and do it right...
Crazy K
If you are talking about turning a warped rotor, that doesn't work. It will keep warping even if turned. The only thing you can do to a warped rotor is replace it.
