luminal67 Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 it's not hard and the possibilities are endless. There is no use to mod a 3.1 or a 3.4. you can only go so far, then it gets expensive. A 3800 is easier to work on as well.
White93z34 Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 ok.... what prompted this? just looking to argue?
birdman Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 wow well you might want to learn quick that people on here dont like threads or comments like this and it will get you banned sooner or later. plus, everything has a 3800, the LQ1 is more rare and easier to sneak up on unsuspecting rice 8)
patgizz Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 just a retard looking for a fight. only reason i'd swap in an L67 is if i wanted to BBQ over an engine fire
skalor Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I don't think it's the only way to go, but it's certainly the easy way. On a side note, I've heard that LQ1s actually weigh more than L67s. Which puts an interesting twist on the whole boat anchor comment.
1990lumina Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 In case just turns into a big fight, just wanna say "In before da lock :D"
95oldsVan Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Sorry, the L32 set up is the way to go...youve been had!!!!!
Crazy K Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 it's not hard and the possibilities are endless. There is no use to mod a 3.1 or a 3.4. you can only go so far, then it gets expensive. A 3800 is easier to work on as well. I like my 3.1 NOOBIE! All five of them in the family runs like fucking clocks! OK, they aren't quick for drag racing, but it still beats a fucking 4 banger, and many other competitors v6s!!!
Guest donkeykongrape Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Yes I like my 3.1 too, it has a shitload of low end torque it never ceases to amaze me...but I still must agree with the original poster... the 3800 series have so much more performance options than any others that fit in these slow friggin cars 8) There's a reason why everyone swaps the L67 in...it's fast! Who cares about originality...the numbers on your 1/4 mile time is all that counts
birdman Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 someone needs to find the pic of the burning gtp that was around here
luminal67 Posted February 4, 2006 Author Report Posted February 4, 2006 I'm not trying to start a fight. I just wondered why not more people do the swap.
SUPERDUTYD Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 plus not everyone wants to pull there perfectly good engine and transmission and axles for that matter just for more power. plus some people need to drive their cars and don't want to have them down how ever long it takes to swap. maybe when my engine goes, but still most likely will go with the 3400.
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I'm planning on having my car 3800 powered in the future, but I would never put down 60* engines by any means. I think it would be awsome to build up a screaming 3.4DOHC, but for many people (like me) cheap 300hp is easiest done by the bigger engine.
