SigEpCutlass
This came up in Lonewolf's topic the other day. Here's the pictures I said I'd put up from when I installed the STB's in my cutty. I appologize for the quality of the pics, but I had to take them at night after work. My engine compartment is so dirty right now too. As I've said before, Adam (AWeb80) created an awesome product with his rear STB. That alone has made the most noticible difference in the handling of my cutty. The rear was only marginally 'difficult' to install because I was lying backwards inside of my trunk to install it. It took me about 25 mins to do. To install the rear, all I had to do was: Pull back the carpeting... Bolt on the brackets... Bolt the bar to the brackets on either side & sorta pull the carpet back up and fold it... There you have it...just remember to put your carpeting back before taking the picture lol The Front install took about 5 minutes... Unbolt the strut tower cover(s)... Bolt on the new cover/bracket(s) & bolt the bar to the brackets... Then you're done!
Lonewolf
thank's for the pics. Now i know what you mean. I've got one in the front from my Peugeot 205 GTI. It is very good when I drive fast. The german name is DOMSTREBE ! How much is one for the front ?
SigEpCutlass
I bought the front one for $80 US. The rear was under $50 from Adam. Honestly, you're better off buying a rear one first from Adam. Shipping to Europe will be expensive, but you'll see more gain in handling. SigEpCutlass
looks good! did you just use the bolts that are on the strut tower already? what sizes did you need? I left everything from the existing strut assembly there. I used new bolts/nuts/washers that I had Adam send with it. I paid a few bucks extra to make sure I'd have the same stuff he used on his. aaah now I understand. O.k. I will think about it. And then I can mail to Adam ?!And Mike your night Shots are great ! Send Adam a PM if you're interested. I'm sure he'd be willing to ship it internationally, if you're willing to pay for it. Thanks for the compliments eveyone. Thanks should also go to Adam for making a good STB. 8)
dohc v6
that front stb i think you bought from me. anyways you need to leave the stock plate on the car. the rsm bracket is not capable of handeling the foce of that bushing in those two spots. thats what they told me. Well that's interesting...it's been fine. Made the most sense initially to take old off and replace it with the new. I'll look at it tonight...thx for the info. White93z34
i agree with dohc v6, you should definately put your stock caps back on then the stb bracket over them. it looks like the only thing supporting your strut mounts is the friction that holds them in place, i'm moderately suprised they haven't poped out yet.
