stevenjoseph82
Can someone point in the right direction for a good shop manual and what kind of price am I looking at here. Car's an '89 GP SE 3.1L......I got this Haynes Manual and, personally, I think it's a piece of shit. I know the actual GM shop manual will prolly cost a buttload, so I was wondering if there was an alternative.

grandprix104
Yeah I got the haynes manual too but it isnt all that helpful. Id like something specialized more for the grand prix.
no1kicker
Definately go with the factory service manual. There was one on ebay for $5 that no one had bid on, it might have ended though.
stevenjoseph82
I found an 88 service manual on there with a buy it now price of $35. You guys think the 88 manual would work with the 89? I don't see why not. I thought the 2.8 and the 3.1 were basically the same motor. Guest Anonymous
Your 3.1 has a map sensor. The 88's had a maf sensor. I think that was the only major difference.
