DaveFromColorado
Okay, so I know a bit about these transmissions, but I can't remember for the life of me, is the differental replacable without removing the transmission, or is this a pull the whole unit kinda deal. the diff cone got shattered when my diff went out ... so both those parts need to be replaced, if I can do it in the car, I MAY considder replacing the parts for now. --Dave. manitcor
you can replace the diff without pulling the trans via the pass side wheel. HOWEVER if you are sure you have shattered your diff even if you clear out and drain off the fluid or do a machine replace of all the fluid there is a possibility that you can end up with bits of metal stuck in your valve body. I would change all your fliud when you do this if you find your diff has infact shattered or cracked. Drive it for a few hundred miles and change it all again you may want to change out your trans fluid again in 5k or so just to be sure all the metal has gone through. DaveFromColorado
Cool! Thanks! I'm pretty sure the rest of the trans is crap too tho, as I've been able to hear the chain makin' noise for quite some time ... if no one buys the car from me, I may actually think about putting in the AWD setup from one of the 6000's. --Dave.
