J Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 hav a body shop give you a free estimate, see what they think, is it just surface rust? Quote
LuminaPower92 Posted January 31, 2006 Author Report Posted January 31, 2006 No its through the panel, they would have to cut it out and replace it, then paint the whole rocker for me. Quote
Prospeeder Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Ha i know how you feel, mine being a michigan car for 14 years takes a toll Quote
3pt1lumina Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Same here. You could Bondo it but it comes back ( trust me I know)... Best thing to do if you really want to spend the money is have the rocker replaced. But then that gets expensive... Quote
1990lumina Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 I'm assuming this rust is behind the body cladding?? Quote
Crazy K Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Get behind it as much as you can and spray grease it. thats what i did on mine, and then covered it with grd fx. Quote
1990lumina Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Personally I'd seal the holes off somehow....maybe some sheetmetal and tar it to the existing body work and spray paint it...then cover it with the gfx.... Quote
Crazy K Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 I JB Welded credit cards over the holes!!!! Ghetto!!!!!! plastic won't rust!!! Quote
1990lumina Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 I JB Welded credit cards over the holes!!!! Ghetto!!!!!! plastic won't rust!!! Haha, you know what, I'd probably consider doing that IF the cladding covered it Quote
per0781 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 i'd get it fixed before the cladding really gets rusty and falls off like mine is doing Quote

1990lumina Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 i'd get it fixed before the cladding really gets rusty and falls off like mine is doing In that case, I'd just take some exopy and glue the bitch back on Quote

Turbo231 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 This thread is useless without pictures. Since my GP's body is mint...FYI for sale...here is my S-10 prior to it's repair. For the rest of the story: http://members.aol.com/great88fiero/s10/rocker.htm Quote
