skalor
I know this has been talked about before but I wanted to know how many people have bought these lines and what they thought about them. I'm switching my TGP over to vacuum brakes and figued that since I have to replace the rubber lines anyway I may as well upgrade them to something better. 8)
GutlessSupreme
x2 I'll be looking to replace all my rubber lines in a few months and would like to know how well they install, etc.
GOT2B GM
Can you buy adaptors that screw onto the double flare hard lines on one end, and to the bubble flair SS flex lines on the other??
GOT2B GM
Yeah, thats true. I was just thinking of I ever wanted to switch them to a different car, it wouldn't be a permanant change.
Guest TurboSedan
just a heads up: rear hoses for a '90 W-body are going to be alot longer than those used for '91+ W-bodies.
Guest TurboSedan
kick ass, thanks for the links Dave
GutlessSupreme
85-90 (12224) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/G-Stop-Brake-Line-Kit-OLDSMOBILE-CUTLASS-85-90-12224_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33562QQitemZ8024681011 These are for the Calais. The correct part number for first gen '88-'90 W's is 12264 according to the application guide. and that seller doesn't have them. I did just send him an e-mail to show his error in the listing though. And I guess they did used to be in the store: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=G-stop+12264 The store's still down at the moment though, I believe. 5speedz34
If your upgrading to 94+ brakes you should the 94+ lines right. Since they come close to rubbing on the strut, right?
GutlessSupreme
If your upgrading to 94+ brakes you should the 94+ lines right. Since they come close to rubbing on the strut, right? I would think so. Unless you're as unfortunate as us PM3 '90s to have that stupid rear proportioning valve edit: that seller e-mailed me back and said he would fix the listing. he also sent me the link to their actual website, which DOES list the correct part number for '88-'90 cars 8) just use the search box for 12264. Lumina's and GP's come up, though it should be the same for CS/Regal? however I don't see any listed for '91-'93 cars. http://www.hrpworld.com/index.cfm?form_cat_id=313,49,363&action=category
pwmin
awesome. thats the cheapest i could find them anywhere online (120 shipped).
skiiirt
Now Im lookin at these thinkin thats a pretty hot deal. What kinda labour is required to install these? Last visit to any mechanic they said my brake lines were all cracked. Which could very well be bullshit (coming from a chrysler dealer) Also, I was lookin on their website. The part number for the cutlass and the regal is the same. except the regal is like $10 cheaper (well compared to their ebay ad). http://www.hrpworld.com/index.cfm?form_prod_id=322,313,49,363_1682&action=product

92 GP
60* used to sell them, yes. I think I may have been the last one to purchase from him on that. Got a damn good price on it, but the only thing was he didn't have them stocked there, which, to me was no problem. He had to order them from the warehouse, then ship them to me. I got'em, put'em on and i LOVE THEM. (They are the goodridge)
Guest TurboSedan
If your upgrading to 94+ brakes you should the 94+ lines right. Since they come close to rubbing on the strut, right? if you're upgrading on a '91+ car, then just use you original brake hoses. when i upgraded to '94+ rear brakes on my Cutlass the original '91 hoses would have been a perfect fit. i didn't use them because they were in terrible shape. i used the '95 hoses that came from the Buick Regal donor...they are almost a perfect fit but the bracket is a little different and doesn't fit the frame rail flush becuase of the locating tab on the bracket (hard to explain...) anyways, if you're upgrading an '88-'90 W-body, then you have to use '88-'90 brake hoses and modify them. i don't think it matter if it has PM3 or not.
