slick Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 So... Searching for a new subwoofer. I'm sick of not having one. Here's my criteria: -I already have a box built. It is a sealed enclosure, built to .92 cubic feet, so it will need to be a subwoofer recommended for this area. -12" -SVC or DVC, does't matter -Wattage amount doesn't matter(I get a good discount on amps) -Try to keep the price under $300 -When it comes to car audio, I don't like cheap(sony, some pioneers, and anything you can buy at walmart) So.... shoot at me what you think. Thanks. Quote

slick Posted January 31, 2006 Author Report Posted January 31, 2006 Well.... I see I've gotten a lot of replies on here. Anyways, so far this is what i have come up with: Adire Audio Brahma 12D4 - Can be bought for around $350, and thats just looking for like 2 minutes. Incriminator Audio 187 Series - Can be bought for around $180 or so. Not many people carry them. Titanic MKIII - Can be bought for about $150. So, any other suggestions? Quote
J Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?cid=2&pid=20&tab=Features&cur=USDagreed Adire Audio Brahma 12D4 great subs. I almost went with one of those. Quote
NeonKnight Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Alpine Type X 12" sub, they weigh a good 80 or so pounds i would bet. they are huge, something like 3000 watts, my friend has one. he paid around $500 but they are a lot cheaper, he got jipped off the website that sold it to him. here is a link to it. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-gI0K8EhUOzS/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=500SWX1242 thats the beast right there. i would recommend 2 bye bye to JL, this thing sounds better than the 2 jl V3s he had. (he got those stolen) Quote

(he got those stolen) sounds better than JL at a higher freq. (23 Hz) but at 3000 watts could that not hit lower? I say Titanic MKIII. It will hit just as low and weigh a lot less. Quote
slick Posted February 1, 2006 Author Report Posted February 1, 2006 I say Titanic MKIII. It will hit just as low and weigh a lot less. And for the price, it's one hell of a deal. Although, I have been pointed at the RE Audio RE series 12". Aparantly you can pick one up for about $80 or so. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Also do you want more SQ, or SPL? that will also factor into what sub you want as well as your decision Quote
slick Posted February 1, 2006 Author Report Posted February 1, 2006 SPL. At first I was just wanting an all SQ setup, but I can get wiring and amps for a good cost. Hell, I can get subs at a good cost as well, but they are not what I want. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Well then if you want SPL, dont get the Elemental Designs sub. Its not what their ment for. what about RE? Quote
slick Posted February 1, 2006 Author Report Posted February 1, 2006 Thats why I really didn't say much back when you and Jay mentioned the ED stuff. I know there stuff is good clean stuff, but i'm a bass freak at heart. RE Audio is good stuff, along with Adire Audio, Incriminator Audio, and the Titanic MKIII as well. I dunno, choices choices. BTW, if you've never checked it out, go to http://www.realmofexcursion.com. Great website! Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 yeah Ive looked at that a couple times before, its a really good website, lots of info and everything! Quote
Puggsley456 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?cid=2&pid=20&tab=Features&cur=USD DAMN YOU!!! you stole my thunder!!! LOL I admit it..... I am a Elemental Designs Slut! But It feels SOOO GOOD! And as a second option I would go for a Soundslpinter RL-P......ohhh very sexy as well! http://www.soundsplinter.com/rlp_premium_series_12_and_15_inch_subwoofer.html If you have 1000rms + I may recomend RE......They like the power. 19Cutlass94 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 After hearing their subs, I dont think Ill buy anything else, and their amps too!!! I think Im Elemental for life. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 This is the one I have. In a sealed box, approx 1cu foot. I bought it like 2 years ago, clearance, so it might be hard to come across them now. It pounds pretty good, although I don't have anything to compare it to. http://www.energenix.com/pioneer-tsw1241c.html Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 My subs hit really hard for a vented enclosure. If you get eD I promise no one will be let down. Quote
