SimonStern Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 Need help ASAP, dash in pieces! OK I got one of those adapters for the base cluster to ub3 in my regal. I took the dash apart, plugged in the adapter, plugged the original harness into the adapter and the ub3 lit up beautifully... Only problem is the cars key was in my pocket, it stays on at all times (the cluster). I really need to get this going, I have things to see and people to do tomorrow, need my dash back together. Ideas? Quote
Cam'ron Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 just guessing, but if you have something wired to a live source and not a swiched source it will stay on al the time Quote
SimonStern Posted January 28, 2006 Author Report Posted January 28, 2006 figured that but I got the adapter from stockgp so I didn't do any of the wiring... Quote
Grand Moff Joseph Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 Would it have something to do with the digital odometer? Quote
Grand Moff Joseph Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 It was just a total guess, I really have no clue. The only other thing I can think of is that there is a wire somewhere else that is drawing constant power. Quote

SimonStern Posted January 28, 2006 Author Report Posted January 28, 2006 I have, no response, from what I understand he likes to be out of town all the time... Quote
SimonStern Posted January 28, 2006 Author Report Posted January 28, 2006 ok, I got it to work properly, I had to disconnect the orange wire that was in c16 in the original cluster connector, now I just need to wire the tach and stuff... Quote
Crazy K Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 ok..... I think the tach has to hook to an ornage wire that goes to the data link connector...... btw, what was your original gauge and what is the upgrade gauge??? are you sticking in a CS one??? Quote
SimonStern Posted January 29, 2006 Author Report Posted January 29, 2006 I got it all working fine that night, I was going from the 89 regal base cluster to an 89 regal ub3 Quote
