Ramma2 Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 I have a 1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme, and it needs a new exhaust from the manifolds on back. How hard is it to get up there behind the engine, remove the old system and install a new one? I've only done a muffler before on a different car, it was easy to get to, and it was a huge pain in the ass to get through the rusted bolts and clamps. If its terrible to get at in this car, then I'll just bring it to a shop and have them do it. Quote
joey b Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 If you are startig at the downpipe, it isn't too tough. 2- 15mm bolts that hold the downpipe to rear manifold. If you are taking the manifold off I would plan on removing the plenum. Not too bad of a task to get it off. The tough part will be if the bolts are rusted in and trying to get it reinstalled. Quote
Ramma2 Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 Yeah I'm starting at the downpipe, no manifold removal here. Quote
GOT2B GM Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Just unbolt DP at the manifold, and get a friend to help you hold up the exhaust while you disconnected the 4 or 5 rubber isolaters. Then remove it in one piece from the vehicle. Quote
