bigdman Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 ok so i made a new pair of front motor mounts for my 3.1 cutlass. they are made from T-304 stainless steel and with polyuerethane bushings. well the engine does not even move now, and when its running it is loud inside the car. it launches well but i need to change the polyuerethane bushings to rubber, because it vibrates like crazy. i will post some pics as soon as i can, but does anyone know where i could get some rubber bushings? per0781 Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 the vibration will calm down a little bit in time. any pics? Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Just use the poly bushings on the engine side and rubber on the other. Quote
Robby1870 Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Just use the poly bushings on the engine side and rubber on the other. Bingo! Thats how I made mine. Quote
bigdman Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 here is one picture of the engine side mount, not bad for being made by a 17 yr old eh? the welds arent so good on this one, i had to refab, that end because i measured wrong  Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 I like the poly bushing in the mounts.... makes me feel like I got something a little bit better than a 3100 Quote

bigdman Posted January 27, 2006 Author Report Posted January 27, 2006 thanks, i found some rubber bushings that i can use for the frame side mount. i haven't put them in yet, it was too dark. the pics i took at a gas station, since they have good overhead lighting. Quote
