snowboard_pro6 Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 so i was looking through modified mag and i noticed an ad for cheapturbo.com i figured i would give it a try cus i would love to put a turbo system in but i dont really have the money, but in the packages section it has a turbo, intercooler, waste gate, and blow off valve all for only $1549.00 and thats for a 250-500hp setup does this look like a good deal? and would i need much more to buy for the system? and could my 3.1 with the auto tranny handle it? cheap turbo- http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/index.html the set up- http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/25pa.html Quote
manitcor Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 thats just the main components, which is what makes it cheap. If you can bend pipe and weld then you could prob install this yourself and do it cheaply however even beyond that you will need: Larger injectors Computer tuning Fuel Pump Colder Plugs Wiring Exhaust Upgrade Transmission upgrades (or you can just swap j/y trannies ever couple months) This is why the kit is so cheap, kits developed for a particular car typically cost around $3000 mainly because they come with everything they need to install and go. What your getting there is the main components of the turbo system itself and nothing else. And honestly, they arent even charging a huge discount, I could put together the same parts list for that price or better. Quote
snowboard_pro6 Posted January 23, 2006 Author Report Posted January 23, 2006 if u could find a better price for that i would love to know Quote
Euro Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 since you have a 3.1...there isnt a kit for it. you'd have to go totally custom, or do what everybody else does and swap in a 3.1 Turbo drivetrain(or just put the turbo parts onto an N/A 3.1) Quote
J Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 cheap now, but the costs will add up quick TRUST ME, i'm in the process now Quote
