birdman Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 someone on 60* said that the 94+ cam gears were better, is it true and if so how are they better? thanks. Quote
slick Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 The 94-95 cam cogs are easier to time. Quote
patgizz Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 you can spin them on the cams without removing them i believe. Quote
birdman Posted January 21, 2006 Author Report Posted January 21, 2006 O I C, so you have to take the older ones off to adjust timing? Quote
loominaz34 Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Yup, the old ones have a lockring setup that means you have to remove the carrier to turn the gears on the cam, the 94 up you can just loosen the bolt and turn. Quote
Vegeta Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 what!? Now you have to remove the carrier? Wow, you wanna do the cam timing for me:P 94-95 have a lock ring too. DIfference is its not the same type which allows you to remove the lockring without using a cam gear puller. You still have to remove the bolt completely to remove the lock ring on 94-95 but you can get it out without using the puller. That is the difference. Quote
loominaz34 Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 I'm going off what my instructor at schoool told me. I would trust vegeta over me. Quote
