Rocketman Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 I just replaced the damn headgaskets on this thing a thousand miles ago and it overheating now. The fans work fine, Im pretty sure the thermostat has <10k on it. It seems to be idling high, normally idles around 9-950. Its going at 1150-1500 rpms now. Oil level is fine, looks fine, coolant level is where it has been the last 3 weeks. I dont wanna rip everything apart to get at the thermostat but if I have to I will. Just wondering if you guys have any suggestions. I doubt the head gasket went again, its not blowing smoke or anything. The temp seems to be fine when I'm driving on the road, which is weird. Just when I'm sitting do the temps start to climb. Its a 94 GP SE with the 3100. Grrrr. -Rocketman Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 If you coolant level is fine, and there isn't coolant in the oil, than I would think it's most likely the t-stat. Just take the throttlebody off to get at it, makes the job easier. Quote
Rocketman Posted January 19, 2006 Author Report Posted January 19, 2006 You dont have to take the exhaust crossover off? Seems like the only way to get to it. Quote

Crazy K Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 You dont have to take the exhaust crossover off? Seems like the only way to get to it. it looks like you do but you do not. Two bolts. the toip must be removed and the lower loosened, as the locer hooks into a slot, not a hole on the outlet pipe. Quote
