95oldsVan
I have been doing some reading on a product that is supposed to possibly help older cars run better, get old performance back and etc. This was posted on another corvette forum and it had a pretty good review. I bought my product from radio shack as well, and when the weather is better and dry,Im going to use this stuff on all my electrical components that can benefit from it. As cars get older, their electrical connectors and wiring gets dirty and corroded.Voltage gets weak and other driveability problems may arise,OR the car just may not feel as strong as it used to,no matter what you do,provided its in good mechanical shape. The product is called Deoxit and I have the Pro Gold kit.You may have already heard of it,or even have used it before. Its good for everything electrical. It will eat away corrosion off electrical connectors and harness clips and also come with a spray lube that wont cross conduct. Go to this link to see an in depth posting on this stuff.I figured it cant hurt my cars since theyre seeing up to 15 years of age on the original wiring harness!!Its not very expensive and may even help cure some ailing gremlins that just wont go away no matter what new electrical parts you throw at it. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=1247196&highlight=deoxit&forum_id=
THe_DeTAiL3R
I have used the DeoxIt and DeoxIT ProGold on most of the sensor terminals and sockets on my '95 with noticeable seat of the pants results, and the contacts were not oxidized to begin with yeah sure

Turbo231
Maybe if you spray this stuff down the intake while she's running. Best thing is just to make sure your body/engine ground cables are clean and LARGE.

Theres a bit of a relevant proof to clean terminals...MY 91 Lumina began to run kinda poorly. With my snap on scanner,I could find no codes, couldnt see anything wrong in real time, but the car just felt sluggish.A compression test passed, everything else checked good and a tune up was done.No different. Decided to try a rebuilt ecm and wham,The car ran like a bat out of hell again. Before I took the core back,I checked my ECM and all the connectors pins were a bit corroded and filthy. It was missing the plastic dust guard from it too.I scrubbed the connectors clean and put the old ecm back in the car,VOilA,it ran like a champ again.I didnt use the Deoxit then, but I do believe there may be some truth to it.Lucky for me,I was able to take the new ecm back to the store and told the parts guy my car just had a loose battery cable and it wasnt the ecm. They usually wont take it back afterwards. dbtk2
While I'm not sure this product will provide a seat in the pants gain, there are guys all over the fiero forums that have seen decent hp gains from just cleaning up all their grounds. A nice clean electrical system is a happy electrical system. Shawn

Garrett Powered
I have used de-oxit the shits way overpriced. not a bad product. I usually just buy the ketchup packets ay autozone, same thing basically only 99cent. I can see where it would give more ass dyno strength to bimmers and corvettes. they probly spray it on their wallets to lube em up really good. manitcor
those sprays sound alot like silcone grease with cleaners in it. nothing wrong with it I suppose. weatherpak terminals by thier very desgin keep contaminants out. If your really concered a little rubbing alchoal is good stuff for cleaning contacts and terminals. A little silcone grease will provide any moisture protection if you dont trust the seals on a weatherpak connector.
