manitcor
IIRC its on the flex plate side. (Inside the block of course). Why does it matter, it wont affect your swap. Everything you wanted to know about swapping a 3400 but were afraid to ask: http://www.3400swap.com/guide_ver_2_5_5.pdf
patgizz
believe me, it is worth it! take it from someone who's done a 3400 swap, it so is worth it. 2nd you don't count, the same 3400 was used in both cases

THe_DeTAiL3R
wouldn't it work just fine to swap the heads and intake? s the block exactly the same????? You can swap the intake and heads from either a 3400 or a newer 3100 (with the BIGGER letters on the plenum). They are the same I beleive.
