STR Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 sounds like the torque converter shutter problem everyone has. There is a fix, TransGo valvebody. Quote
Spcboyd1 Posted March 21, 2003 Author Report Posted March 21, 2003 1995 grand prix 3100 motor i had the transmission rebuilt in november Quote
Robby1870 Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 yeah I was going to say valve body, but since you had rebuilt like 4 months ago.......I dont know. Its got the 4T60E so go figure, it probably take 10 tranny specialists to figure it out....lol. Do the rpms fluctuate with the shudder, or does it just jerk back and forth? Robby Quote
JS91Z34 Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 What about the TPS? Most TPS's wear out or short out at a cruising throttle position. Thats where the most contact is made during engine operation. If the TPS is worn out it will not kick the MIL on. If it shorted it will. But chances are the car wouldn't idle for nothing. Just a suggestion. Quote
Spcboyd1 Posted March 24, 2003 Author Report Posted March 24, 2003 So are you saying if that the tps could cause the car to idle ok if the tps is worn and just cruise poorly. Do you think that it could be anything else that would cause it to do that. Quote

I was just having this problem Except it was doing it in nuetral too. I just changed my plugs, wires, got a K&N air filter, and gave it an oil change and it works great now. Quote
