monte carlo engine question

hi, first time poster. Im looking at a 95 Monte Carlo LS and i was wondering if it has the 3.1 or the 3100 V6 and if so what is the difference my mom had a 90 Beretta GT with the 3.1 and it had i think 120-130hp. Also does the redesigned Lumina/Monte Carlo still have the floorboard mounted hood release that you had to pull up towards you to open the hood or is it on the dashboard. also does the Monte carlo and lumina still have the ignition on the steering column or is it on the dashboard or did they do that feature on the 2000 monte carlos. well any help you can give me will help me out and i hope to get the car next week when i get the money from the insurance company to replace my old car which was totaled last week

95 Montes have the 3100 with 160HP and 185 lb ft. 3.1Ls had 140HP and 180 lb ft. I think it has floor board mounted hood release. Somebody more knowledgeable in Montes will tell ya. And, Im pretty sure the ignition is mounted on the steering column. Hope this helps. BTW: WELCOME!!!!
