red95cutlass
I changed from my regular brand of oil to Mobile 1 and now when the sits awhile I get the "low oil level" light. If I start for 5 seconds, shut off and restart the light goes away. Any thoughts? Thanks

If I start for 5 seconds, shut off and restart the light goes away. Any thoughts? Thanks Joe nailed it... I have a 94 Grandam (2.3L) in the shop with the same light...it looks like the float degrades over time (heat and oil saturation) I wouldnt doubt that the minute change in the specific gravity of your different oil may have contributed... as it was on the Pontiac the float was actually disintegrating... the sensor is relativly cheap and i doubt there was any wire damage good luck James
96mcls
i would also agree, the sensor is rather cheap, i had mine go out on me about a year ago. the sensor went out with about 200 miles on synthetic oil(which happened to be my first time running synthetic in my car) i got a new one from GM for ~$35 after tax

red95cutlass
No I haven't. Do you guys have a part number or should I just go to AutoZone?
red95cutlass
Oh I forgot...I have been running regular oil since the beginning. This is the second oil change I have done with fully synthetic and I have to admit that the oil coming out is darker than it ever was. I also picked up the magnetic tip oil drain plug too. It has been covered with lots of magnetic shards. I guess I want to say that I think that the synthetic is cleaning my engine out. Have you guys seen/felt this way? Holla!
