Guest Anonymous Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 how does one take the hood off a 92 Grand Prix? IE what bolts and where, etc? Quote
Crazy K Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 I would put masking tape on the hood corners, thick enough to protect them from scratching the car or themselves maybe drop rags behind the the hood's corner to protect the body/windsheild/cowl from the hood corner, loosen the bolts from the hinges to the hood, (the lower hinges are spot welded to the fenders) take a small screwdriver and detach the clip at the hood end of the shock things that hold the hood open... a friend to help hold the hood would be good, and spin the bolts off and off it comes... R Dubya Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 Ross do you still have that hood?? Still want to sell it? 4 bolts, 2 per side, I think 9/16" and a wratchet will do it. Quote
1990lumina Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 If you're removing and replacing the same hood, make sure to put some alignment marks on it so you can line it back up. Great advice Quote
DiscoStudd Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Paint or scribe around the hinge-to-hood bolts to aid in aligning the hood when you put it back on ... Quote
