psychopyro31106 Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 I drove to school fine, no problems... I go to leave and my transmission just winds, and very little motion of the car occurs. I checked the tranny fluid yesterday and it was fine, when this happened today I checked it and it was below the word add. anybody know what the problem here is??? I am also having problems holding antifreeze. i put an aluminum based seal in it about a month ago and it held until recently, then it started leaking again. I put another in it yesterday and havent had a chance to check it yet, but im assuming this one will only be a temporary fix as well. as with the transmission problem, andybody know whats wrong or how to fix it??? Thanks Brian Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 First off, you need to FIX your leaks, don't just add crap that might clog other things.... Get your coolant system pressure tested to find out where the leak is. It could be going in your oil (better check that!) if your lower intake gasket is gone bad. Trust me, you can't seal a bad LIM gasket with stuff in a can!!! As far as your tranny.. did you check the pan? When was the last time you changed the fluid, and was a cork gasket used? Make sure you use some form of RUBBER (or other black non-cork material). Cork is almost guaranteed to leak no matter what. Quote
ns87 Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 yea I agree. Changing the transmission pan gasket is piece of cake! Quote
