birdman Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 ive noticed that if i get on the gas a little when turning that the car makes like a whining sound until i let off the gas. anyone know what it could be? thanks. Quote
DiscoStudd Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Power steering pump. Be sure you have enough fluid in the reservoir before you assume the pump's shot, though ... Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 If your power steering is that loud a lot, it may need to be replaced (pump). However, as Disco said: check your fluid. Quote
snowboard_pro6 Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 i have the same problem once i get to about 120km/h and driving on the highway dunno what it is so i try not to speed much Quote
birdman Posted January 14, 2006 Author Report Posted January 14, 2006 it really dosnt seem like power steering though, after it starts to whine when i hit the gas in the corner it still does it for a few seconds after i strighten out. any ideas? thanks. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 My car does that. I don't think its the power steering becuase all of that is new, although i should check the fluid levels since my mechanic has had a habit of NOT filling the fluids. However, my 95 3.4 made that sound as well and i always assumed it was how they sounded Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 If it's the PS pump it should make the noise even when you crank the wheel in park.. Quote
GOT2B GM Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 Low tranny fluid, sloshing to one side. Quote
birdman Posted January 14, 2006 Author Report Posted January 14, 2006 lats time i checked it was full in all gears and it made the sound at that time also, well i guess this is a stumper, so i guess its ok if it makes the sound, nothing deadly right? Quote
