jeffline Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 as the subject says I took off the front license plate holder ( ruins the front of the car) as my also mystate does not require one so what can i use to get rid of the small holes left behind ? car is white Thanks Quote
Prospeeder Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Get some screws, paint them white, and put them in with a nut on the back to hold it on, I HATE where my license plate is, but my state requires them Quote
sl3196 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Jam some bondo or something in there and paint it with touch up paint. Sand it smooth first of course. Quote
1990lumina Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 You can also buy little plastic colored plugs to jam in there. Quote
jeremy Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 whatever you do, don't use screws ....... Quote
Prospeeder Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 whatever you do, don't use screws ....... why wouldnt body painted flat head screws work? THeyd look better than body filler and touch up paint or some shit Quote
jeremy Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 why wouldnt body painted flat head screws work? THeyd look better than body filler and touch up paint or some shit you can't be serious? at least with the suggestion that sl3196 gave, if you take you time and a little pride in the work it will be very minimally noticeable at best. Painting screw heads to fill holes belongs in the thread below http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37409 Quote
Psych0matt Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 i think the bondo and touch up would look tons better, as well as work better in the long run i would imagine Quote
1990lumina Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Haha, don't wanna see what I did when I removed the license plate holder thing on my car haha.... Quote
Euro Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 i did the "ghetto" way of painting screws on mine..it honestly doesnt look that horrible...it blends in quite well from like 10ft away but obviously the better way would be to use body filler or something Quote
sl3196 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 whatever you do, don't use screws ....... why wouldnt body painted flat head screws work? THeyd look better than body filler and touch up paint or some shit How the hell would screws look better then properly filling the holes and using touch up paint? Your know it all attitude is getting old man. Quote
Prospeeder Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Eh, touch up paint doesnt look good, i tried using touch up paint, it didnt turn out very well, i must suck Quote
Euro Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Yes you must suck. i agree....touch up paint works great for me! Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Yes you must suck. i agree....touch up paint works great for me! Me Three. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 If you're a perfectionist, melt some polyurethane rod into the holes, then fill with flexible epoxy filler, then sand and paint. That should hold up better than Bondo as it's the proper way to repair urethane. Quote
