Cueman
Just replace the thermostat, now both fans are not working. I drove the car so the engine was hot, and had the A/C on max. Neither fans came on, even though the temp was at the 2nd hash mark (right before the red) This is opn a 95 cutlass.. How can I test the fans? Is it posibly the CTS? Any help is appreciated! Regal_GS_1989
Did you properly bleed the cooling system first??
Cueman
Yes, I opened the bleeder screw on the thermostat. Had to do it 4, of 5 times until coolant came out. I know that our cars run hot when idling, but the fans never come on. Should I bleed it more?
Regal_GS_1989
If the system is bled properly, the car should run at the normal temperature while driving down the highway. I have my fan set up so that is comes on when you turn the key on, and mine always runs at about 180*. Idleing or driving down the highway. Hot Summer day or Deep freeze of winter, It is always at 180*. I would try bleeding it some more, and try using the screw by the water pump too. Also, when the temp guage was reading that high, was there any heat??
