rearview mirror help needed

I'm looking into getting this rearview mirror:

Its from a late 90's early 2000's yukon/silverado/ GM vehicle. Despite the airbag warning, will it work in my car with the needed sensors? How does it mount?

it looks like the mount is partially visible in the 2nd picture, just to the left of the edge of the paper...you probably have to glue the one piece on and have the mirror slide over it, just like most every other rearview mirror

GM uses a standard windshield "slug" for all of their vehicles, and that one looks the same as all of the other GM's.

What's the worst that can happen, anyway? If it doesn't fit over your car's slug, just scrape yours off and glue the one from that mirror on your windscreen...

if you use search you will find a few topics on these type of mirrors.

type: mirror and dimming

I just got one from a 99ish aurora, no map lights, and it has three wires

it is gentex "gntx" on back

black -ground

pink -hot switchable (so mirror works only when car on!)

lt green - hooks to reverse power circuit

It will work... Does it have maplights?

Is it gentex, and not donnelly? Donnelly's fail alot.

I think Gm uses gentex only.... in my experience, btw.

That's an 03+ mirror.

00-02 compass/temp mirrors are similar, but don't have the airbag indicator and have a simpler 7-pin connector.

They are easy to install, I put one in my truck which had the base model mirror.
