Crazy K Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 glad to hear. keep it on the road! I heard a discouraging word you wanna get rid of it! anything else needing help? Quote
f_399 Posted January 15, 2006 Author Report Posted January 15, 2006 we will see tom... if we feel like it will run for awhile then i might just keep it... i know i will not get much for it replacing the ac comp tom and we put in a new alternator its actually been good to me, i have put it through a lot (1 trip to canada, 2 trips to florida and a lot more road trips) almost 110,000 miles since i got it (Fall 2002) Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 It's so worth it after you fire it up, eh? Don't worry if you notice it drink some coolant- it's a PITA to get all the air out of the system! Once I got all the air out and topped it up it hasn't lost a DROP of coolant (I check it at least ever other day.. lol) Quote
Crazy K Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 wait.. umm... did you just call me tom??? well it sounds like you should still have plenty of good life left in it. A well kept W can go on and on and on... Yeah, sometimes something needs fixed, but as long as you fix whats wrong they have alot of potential. At least they don't usually blow headgasket or eat trannies like ford and chyslers often do! Even junk W's have potentiial... Ive driven several with shreadded trannies(slip like mad, grind, shudder, missing gear but still move), and even ones with blown headgaskets(3 out of 6 incredibly not that bad, ), or spun bearings or a thrown rod. Even when beaten and broken they still beg for more. Of all the cars I drove into the killing fields only two weren't GM... But i am including a chrysler I drove backwards, and the other was a ford van. every other was D E A D. Quote

Ive driven several with shreadded trannies(slip like mad, grind, shudder, missing gear but still move) Mine shifts real hard from 1st to 2nd (smooth every other gear). When I dropped the pan there were metal shavings and the fluid was all dark (it still burns the fluid, what's new..). That was like a year ago 10k and no difference As long as I let off the gas before it shifts than it doesn't shift hard. Quote
f_399 Posted January 15, 2006 Author Report Posted January 15, 2006 everything seems to be running fine except for a chirping sound by where all the pulleys are replaced ac comp and alternator.... could it be the power steering? will recharge the ac today Quote
